Nursing Registration and Permanent Residency Applications

Nurses looking to migrate to Australia must approach the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) to have their nursing qualifications assessed. Once you have applied to ANCI and you are approved for migration you can then simply write to the ANCI and request that they send your complete file to the Nurses Board in the state that you wish to live and work to enable you to apply for registration within that state of Australia.

How long does the process take?

The process for migration can take anywhere from around 4 – 18 months and can be dependant on various matters such as nationality, age, health, finances, areas of experience, qualifications etc. WANA can assist you with preparing some of your nursing documentation and also with the provision of some information regarding your suitability for migration, however WANA can not make the application for you. You can choose to either make the application yourself or engage the services of a migration agent – the choice is yours.
