 
Each State or Territory in Australia has its own
Nurses Registration Board, located in each capital city. Which ever
state of Australia you wish to work in will require registration
in that state.

Generally speaking, most Nurses apply for their
initial Registration in the state they first wish to work in. Then
as they work their way around Australia they apply to each different
state under a process known as mutual recognition. Remember - you
will incur a fee for each State / Territory Nurses Board you register
with.
Who is eligible for registration as a Nurse
within Australia?
If
you undertook your initial nursing training in the following countries
you may be eligible to practice in Australia by registering directly
with an Australian State Nurses Registration Board.
- United Kingdom
- Republic of Ireland
- New Zealand
- United States of America
- Canada
If you trained as a nurse in the following countries
then you must show evidence of English language competency for the
following countries-
- Republic of South Africa
- Quebec
- Zimbabwe
- Singapore
- Hong Kong
- Netherlands
